Melbourne Law School
Melbourne Law School, Australia’s first all-graduate law faculty, seeks new colleagues at levels B to E who share our commitment to a highly collegial and research-intensive professional life.
We specifically encourage applications from scholars researching and teaching in the fields of civil procedure/dispute resolution, competition law, contract and remedies, employment law, intellectual property, legal ethics, property law and public law.
We encourage applications from current or aspiring academics with a clear understanding of the value of cross-disciplinary and comparative analysis, who are able to integrate teaching with research and community engagement activities, and who are prepared to contribute to the vibrant communal life and culture at the Law School and within the University of Melbourne as a whole.
Melbourne Law School was the first faculty in Australia to teach law and awarded the country’s first law degrees. We were the first to move to the global standard Juris Doctor degree. Coupled with the unrivalled excellence of the Melbourne Law Masters and our internationally renowned Research Higher Degree programmes, we offer a unique opportunity to integrate scholarship and teaching. Colleagues are encouraged to affiliate with the Law School’s more than one dozen research institutes, centres and groups, and to take full part in the University of Melbourne’s rich intellectual life – all in the heart of one of the world’s most liveable cities.
Melbourne Law School confirmed its position as Australia’s leading law school with its latest ranking at number 5 in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject.
